Trencor’s Surface Miner powered by 1,550-horsepower Cat engine

Powered by a Cat 3512B 12-cylinder engine, the new 3000SM Surface Miner from Trencor can trench through rock 10 feet wide and up to 26 inches deep in a single pass. The 300,000-pound, four-track machine’s suspension can cut slopes up to 15 degrees to meet exacting job requirements without any unnecessary backfilling.

All four tracks are steerable and the unit has three separate steering modes – standard front steer, coordinated four-track steer and crab steering – to fit most applications.
