The 4-ton machine is powered by a 39-horsepower electronically controlled Yanmar diesel and has an 11-foot 10-inch dig depth and 4.7-inch tail swing. It comes standard with the company’s hydraulic quick coupler, its Smartassist remote communication system and a 4-year / 4,000-hour warranty. Options for the SV40 include a second PTO function, 4- or 6-way blade and an additional counterweight. Customers can also choose between rubber or steel tracks.

“With best in class power, digging force and lifting capacity, this machine will be a game changer within the compact excavator segment,” says Jeff Pate, division manager for Yanmar America’s Compact Equipment Division.

The SV40 comes standard with Eco Mode, Auto-Decel Mode and a backfill blade lever-controlled with float position 2-speed operation incorporated into the operator’s station. The operator’s station — which comes in either a canopy or cab version — features an LCD monitor the shows key operating information and maintenance notification intervals. It has speakers and is pre-wired for radio.

Yanmar’s current excavator product lineup also includes two other ultra-tight tail swing machines and another six excavators with true zero tail swing.
