Atlas Copco Power Technique has designed its new Smart Air Xc4004 controller for easier, more efficient use of its large portable air compressors.

The controller is geared toward the company’s air compressors and boosters with flows up to 4,500 cubic feet per minute and pressures up to 5,000 pounds per square inch.

The controller features a 7-inch anti-glare screen that is rated IP67 for water, dust and dirt resistance. The controller can show 15 or more parameters, such as pressure and flow.

It also has an auto-diagnostic function for the engine. And operators can quickly check historical trends to analyze use.

The controller’s navigation is available in 30 languages. It can also operate multiple compressors and “offers a solution for every emission regulation,” the company says. It is compatible with Atlas Copco regulating systems, such as the new AirXpert 2.0 and the pneumatic regulation system.

The controller also allows remote operation.

“Users can access several parameters through a second control unit that could, for example, be mounted at a drill rig,” the company says. “Through this second mirror screen controller, operators can manage the eco-mode, dynamic flow boost, multi-pressure/flow settings and emergency stop. This remote monitoring can be hard-wired or through RRC radio connection.”
