Bobcat has announced major increases to both its standard and extended compact equipment warranties.

Effective, January 1, 2019, Bobcat is providing a warranty of two years or 2,000 hours, whichever occurs first, on all of its skid-steer, compact track and all wheel steer loaders, as well as all compact excavator models.

The prior standard warranty was 12 months with unlimited use hours.

Bobcat is also increasing its extended warranty to 60 months and 5,000 hours of coverage and introducing a third extended warranty coverage option called Powertrain + Hydraulics to join the current Powertrain and Full coverage options, the company says.

Bobcat joins DeereYanmar, Cat, Case and Wacker Neuson in introducing longer warranties for compact equipment.

Like Bobcat, Deere, Case and Cat have upped their compact equipment warranties to a two-year/2,000-hour policy. The Case extended warranty covers its skid steers and compact track loaders while the Cat policy covers skid steers, compact track loaders, multi-terrain loaders and compact excavators. Wacker Neuson, meanwhile, has upped its warranty to three years/3,000 hours, though on skid steers and compact track loaders only. Yanmar recently introduced a four-year/4,000-hour warranty on compact excavators.
