A 200-gallon-per-minute mud pump is mounted onboard Vermeer’s latest horizontal directional drill, the D100X120, for increased backreaming efficiency and to reduce the need for support equipment. For drilling power, the unit offers 12,000 foot-pounds of rotational torque and 100,000 pounds of pullback. The drill pipe is thrust forward with a rack-and-pinion system. An ergonomically designed operator station keeps operators comfortable and focused for the duration of all-day bores.
