McClung-Logan Equipment, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, has acquired Virginia-based White Oak Equipment.

The White Oak operation will be called White Oak Compact Equipment and operate as a McClung-Logan division, offering the full line of Takeuchi excavators, compact track loaders, wheel loaders, skid steers and attachments.

“This deal represents a new and exciting chapter for McClung-Logan as our combined teams and product offerings will enable us to meet the market needs across a broader footprint,” says Darrin Brown, president of McClung-Logan. “Specifically, the expansion into Fredericksburg, Virginia will help McClung-Logan better support customers in that area.”

Existing McClung-Logan and White Oak locations in Manassas, Chesapeake/Suffolk and Glen Allen, Virginia will merge operations in each of those respective areas. The current Fredericksburg, Virginia White Oak location will become a new branch for McClung-Logan along the I-95 corridor. In addition to these four markets, McClung-Logan is also an authorized Takeuchi equipment dealer in its Winchester and Wise, Virginia branches.

Tom Ficklin, co-owner, president and CEO of White Oak Equipment, will join McClung-Logan as general manager of the compact equipment division. Mark McCarty, co-owner, vice president, secretary and treasurer of White Oak will remain with the company as sales manager of the compact equipment division.

“This deal represents a terrific partnership of two long-standing companies that can provide exceptional compact and heavy construction products and expertise to customers in Virginia,” says Ficklin.

McClung-Logan says the deal gives them the ability to add additional personnel, resources and market-specific experience to the growing compact equipment segment.

McClung-Logan is a subsidiary of ML Holdings, which has eight locations throughout Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. Founded in 1939, it represents several lines, including Volvo Construction Equipment, Takeuchi, Prinoth, K-Tec, Gradall and Doosan Portable Power. White Oak began in 1970 as a Case farm and industrial equipment dealer, shifting to construction equipment in the 1980s.
