H&E opens new Salt Lake City operation with two huge buildings and 10-acre yard
H&E Equipment Services has relocated its Salt Lake City branch to newly-constructed facilities at 5052 West 2400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
The new operation includes two state-of-the-art buildings, built to meet the most stringent energy efficiency standards, the company says.
“After nearly 40 years at our old location, our entire team is excited to transition to our new facilities. The dual-building approach allows us to be more laser-focused on specific products and achieve operational efficiencies that will benefit customers tremendously,” says Lee Anderson, H&E Salt Lake City branch manager.

Deutz Power Centers now authorized service, parts centers for Genie aerial lifts
Deutz Power Centers are now authorized service and parts centers for Genie-branded mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs).
Deutz Corporation and Terex AWP – a business unit of Terex Corporation that includes the Genie brand – made the announcement this week.
Employees at Deutz Power Center locations in Chicago, Illinois; Rock Hills, South Carolina and St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri are trained and equipped to perform service, warranty, unplanned repairs and supply service parts for Genie Z and S booms, GS scissors lifts and GTH telehandlers, the company says.

E-Z Drill adds Mid Country Machinery to dealer network
E-Z Drill has added Mid Country Machinery, based in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to its dealer network.
Mid Country Machinery, founded in 1997, sells both new and used equipment and offers Kobelco, Kawasaki, JLG, Atlas Copco Powercrusher and SkyTrak equipment. Machines include backhoes, dozers, excavators, manlifts, loaders, forklifts, crushing and screening equipment, along with crushing, paving, and concrete equipment. The company also has a rental division, MCM Rents.

With manufacturing winding down, Caterpillar begins marketing Aurora plant for repurposing
Caterpillar is now marketing its production plant near the Chicago suburb of Aurora, Illinois, according to published reports.
The (Aurora) Beacon-News reported Caterpillar is working to sell off the manufacturing part of the facility, which is set to close for good by the end of the year.
Caterpillar has begun marketing the plant for repurposing, the newspaper says in this report.

Deere 2Q equipment sales leap 34% as construction sees ‘sharp’ improvement
Stoked by a favorable market and its Wirtgen acquisition, Deere & Company is reporting net income of $1.21 billion for the second quarter ending April 29, or $3.67 per share.
That’s compared with net income of $808.5 million, or $2.50 per share, for the second quarter of 2017.
And for the first six months of 2018, net income was $673.2 million, or $2.05 per share, compared with $1 billion, or $3.14 per share, for the same six-month period a year ago, the company says.
