In the video below, famed gymkhana driver Mike Ryan hops on board a Caterpillar 789 mining truck and drifts to his heart content. While this truck has a lot of horsepower—2,000 to be exact powered by 78-liter V16 diesel—top speeds are around 40 miles per hour making it very difficult to drift a vehicle weighing 200,000 pounds. There are donuts and then there are the donuts created by a 789. Even though this video shows off some truly impressive driving skill, you might want to mute the sound as the music is truly awful.
