Fecon has upgraded its Stumpex stump grinder attachment for skid steers and compact track loaders to increase cutting speed, especially on softer woods.
With a new two-speed hydraulic motor, the auger-type tool can remove 24-inch stumps in less than 3 minutes, the company says. Its high-torque design prevents flying chips to improve safety and reduce cleanup.
Blades and cones have longer life. The Stumpex can be transported by pickup truck. It is designed for skid steers and CTLs with more than 60 horsepower.
The company says the attachment will give operators of lower-flow equipment more cutting speed than grinders with fixed displacement motors.
