You’re a few months away from needing one just yet, but if you’re looking to simplify ice management in the upcoming cold months you might want to look into SnowEx’s SuperMaxx II spreaders.
These spreaders handle 100-percent salt, 100-percent sand or any combination, and are designed for large contractors and municipalities. Available with 3.3-, 4.3 and 6.0-cubic-yard capacities, the spreaders have an enhanced material feed system with a stainless steel trough for brine and salt mixing prior to delivery to the spinner.
The cab-forward hoppers offer improved payload distribution, improving safety and reducing stress on the vehicle. Made from lightweight polyethylene and featuring a multi-angle design, the corrosion-resistant hoppers deliver a continuous flow of material to the auger feed system. An inverted V baffle and attached vibrator reduces clumping.
Completely electric powered, the SuperMaxx II spreader has a 12-volt, 3/4-horsepower motor and 1.6-horsepower spinner motor, which are sealed inside a weather resistant enclosure. The 12-inch stainless steel spinner has adjustable cups and a 40-foot variable spread width. When not in use, the spinner flips up to provide access to the hitch.
A pendant-style controller allows the operator to independently adjust the variable speed spinner and auger, and includes a digital readout and dials, blast and pulse features, auto-reverse and overload protection. Additional standard features include a fitted tarp, top screen, LED safety strobe lights and more.
