John Deere introduced their D-Series skid steers and compact track loaders on Tuesday at the ICUEE Show, noting new machine features driven by customer requests.
Gregg Zupancic, Deere’s product marketing manager for skid steers and compact track loaders, says one of the biggest changes from previous models is the cab used on the D-Series. Deere customers were asking for cabs similar to those found on larger Deere equipment, so the D-Series include a 24-percent larger cab that offers an additional six inches of headroom.
Zupancic says the big machine features are not limited to cab improvements; the company has included an auto idle, an optional reversing hydraulic fan and a V-Plenum cooling system that provides an increasing in cooling capacity and performance. An Electro-Hydraulic Performance Package includes switchable controls from the ISO to the H pattern, as well as enabling the operator to use a creeper mode to set the wheel or track speed in 10-percent increments of the unit’s top speed. The package allows the operator to personalize the machine for his skill level or for a particular application.
The product line includes the 318D, 320D, 326D, 328D and 332D skid steers, and the 319D, 323D, 329D and 333D compact track loader models.
