Atlas Copco’s QLT 4 light tower improves efficiency

Atlas Copco’s new QLT4 light tower uses the GenSmart Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) to improve efficiency by 15 to 20 percent. Four 1,000-watt metal halide lamps provide enhanced flicker-free lighting.

The light tower is made with heavy gauge painted steel, and the winch design and trailer suspension are commercial grade. The mast extends 31 feet vertically rotates 360 degrees. Standard equipment includes a runtime hour indicator, key lock, shutdown protection for low oil and high temperature and a starting battery.

The QLT4’s typical fuel usage is 1.8 gallons per day less than comparable models, according to the company, which translates to approximately 15 less fill-ups per year.
