The Rental Show to remain in New Orleans despite Katrina

The American Rental Association has announced that The Rental Show will go on as planned February 12-15, 2007, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

A representative of the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau met with the ARA’s board of directors and gave updates on the city’s progress. Sallee Pavlovich, director of convention and trade show sales for the New Orleans CVB, told the board the majority of hotels anticipate being fully operational and receiving guests by Jan. 1, 2006. The board then met and reaffirmed their previous decision of having New Orleans host the event.

“The members of the ARA want to show their support for the people of New Orleans, and this commitment by the board offers the greatest opportunity to give our exhibitors and attendees the best possible show in 2007,” ARA President Allen Morehead said.

The Rental Show is the worlds largest rental equipment trade show and typically brings more than 11,000 attendees to the host city.
