Caterpillar to purchase French remanufacturer

Caterpillar Remanufacturing Services has announced it will buy Eurenov S.A., a France-based remanufacturer of automotive and industrial engines, transmissions and components. Eurenov has 155 employees and operates a primary facility in Chaumont, France, and another in Radom, Poland.

Cat Reman said the purchase will give it greater access to the European automotive and industrial engine and transmission remanufacturing market and allow it to expand into Eastern Europe. The acquisition will occur through a two-phase process, with Caterpillar obtaining full ownership in 2007, subject to the completion of legal and regulatory requirements.

Caterpillar announced last year that Cat Reman would offer its services to original equipment manufacturers in non-construction industries.|
