Bobcat to open new proving grounds

Bobcat will begin testing new equipment and training North American dealers at a 640-acre site in Sahuarita, Ariz., near Tucson, next year. The company is leasing the land, which includes waste rock piles, from ASARCO, a copper mine owner. Since 1988 Bobcat has tested equipment on a 240-acre site in Surprise, Ariz. The company will shut down that proving grounds. The new facility will include a 12,500-square-foot multi-bay building with classrooms and office space. Three full-time engineers and 10 part-time equipment operators will work at the site.
