DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway’s new PowerDriveUnit is a compact, simple, repackaged power solution for a wide variety of applications including irrigation systems, pumps, air compressors, chippers, aggregate crushing and screening. PowerDriveUnits are based on the company’s Series 60, Series 700 and Series SUN diesel engines, with respective power ranges from 25 to 630 horsepower. A standard PowerDriveUnit package includes the base engine, complete with radiator, fan and belt guards, alternator, air filters, control panel and mountings. Optional equipment can be specified as well, including base skids, sound enclosures, exhaust mufflers, electronic control panels and inline- or side-load PTO clutches.
