Rental Service Corporation changed its brand name this month to RSC Equipment Rental and launched a new website that allows contractors to reserve equipment, call equipment off rent and chat with a customer service representative 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The company says it is changing its brand name to make clear that its focus is equipment rental. RSC Equipment Rental will represent all RSC and Prime Industrial locations in the United States and Canada, while Prime Energy, which provides generator and temperature-control services, will retain its name.
After filling out a form on the company’s website, you can search RSC’s inventory and schedule machines for delivery, request rental equipment pickup and track rental account information by project or equipment type.
Candice Roberts, procurement manager for Staley Inc., an electrical contracting company, used spreadsheets to keep track of rental equipment before trying rscrental.com. “There have been times when we have had a piece of equipment in the field for a couple of months before realizing the rental had been overlooked,” Roberts says. “Now, with RSC Online, I am able to keep the equipment rental status up to date, all from an easy-to-use website, eliminating these types of errors.”
The website’s reserve equipment function allows you to order rental equipment at any time. You can either browse thousands of categories or do a specific search, submitting every detail of a reservation. Once you have found the machine you want, the program lets you schedule it for delivery where and when you need it.
You can also call equipment off rent by scheduling for a machine to be picked up, or cancel orders.
The manage reports feature provides access to up-to-the-minute information by account, project or equipment. The tool makes information on billing history, year-to-date rentals and rentals by equipment type available through pre-defined reports. You can also create custom reports. Other features include a report console, which allows you to access and create reports in more categories, and customizable data charts.
