Bomag offers 1-ton, tandem-drum roller

Bomag Light Equipment has introduced the BW900-2, a 1-ton, tandem-drum roller that features a series-type hydraulic travel system for improved performance on steep grades. Compared to parallel hydraulic systems that have the tendency to spin out on severe grades, series hydraulic systems increase the use of available power, improving both forward and reverse motion. This hydraulic system offers enhanced performance when working on severe approaches and steep embankments, and also makes it easier to load the roller onto tilt-top or tag-along trailers. The roller features a 20-horsepower Honda gasoline engine and 24-inch diameter drums. Its vibrating front drum produces 3,150 pounds of centrifugal force. With an inside turning radius of 63.8 inches, the machine offers jobsite maneuverability, and the 18-inch-high curb clearance and minimal lateral overhang on both sides of the machine permit operation close to curbs and walls.
