Senate rejects permanent death tax reform

The U.S. Senate failed to permanently reform the death tax last week, causing the Associated General Contractors of America and other organizations to express their disappointment. According to the AGC, the move would have eliminated the uncertainty that many business owners feel when trying to pass their family business on to the next generation.

While the Senate did not pass the reform measure, the House had voted for death tax reform with a 230-180 vote on July 29.
