John Deere recently acquired Roberts Irrigation Products, which manufactures plastic micro and drip irrigation products for the agricultural, nursery and greenhouse markets.
Ken Golden, director of news and information at Deere, said the acquisition provides Deere with a foundation to build its new business initiative in precision water systems.
“Water is an important natural resource for customers of John Deere equipment,” said Mike McGrady, president of Deere’s precision water systems. “Management of this limited resource will become even more critical in the future.”
Roberts Irrigation, founded in 1968, will remain headquartered in San Marcos, Calif.
