Cummins, Russian vehicle maker to build engines

Cummins and Russian vehicle manufacturer Kamaz will produce a line of mid-range engines. The 120- to 275-horsepower engines will be made under the name ZAO Cummins Kama. The companies have had a business relationship since the early 1980s, and this venture will be an equal partnership.

“Cummins will benefit from its association with this highly respected original equipment manufacturer and its extensive dealer network in the Russian market,” said Tim Solso, chief executive and chairman of Cummins.

The B-series engines will be manufactured at joint-venture facilities, with production to begin early this year.
