JCB announces new compact and utility equipment division

JCB is developing a compact and utility equipment division in North America to focus on its customer support and expansion in that sector.

“The compact equipment business continues to grow strongly in North America, and now represents over 50 percent of the total market,” said JCB president Helmut Peters. “In order for JCB to capitalize on this growth, the compact and utility product division has now been established to pursue this business.”

Bob Wright, who previously served as JCB’s vice president of sales and distribution, was named vice president of the new division. According to Wright, the new division will specialize in expanding the market of skid and track loaders, mini excavators, micro excavators and dumpsters.

“The compact and utility product segment represents a tremendous opportunity for JCB to respond to the unique requirements of customers who purchase these products,” Wright said. “As the market continues to shift toward lighter, more agile designs, JCB will be well positioned for growth through the new division.”
