Atlas Copco announced Oct. 1 it has acquired two South African companies – Professional Diamond Drilling Equipment, a manufacturer of diamond drill bits, and Mining Drilling Services, a distribution company specializing in supplying exploration drilling equipment to contractors and mines. Atlas Copco will join the two companies into one unit called Atlas Copco Exploration Products Africa. The new entity will produce and service exploration products for the African continent. Atlas Copco Exploration Products Africa is part of the division Atlas Copco Craelius within the Atlas Copco Construction and Mining Technique business area.
