BigRentz, an online network that fulfills rental requests from more than 7,500 equipment rental suppliers across the U.S., has introduced a feature that will allow those suppliers to instantly claim an order.

The feature, dubbed QuickRentz, will send an email and SMS message to rental locations that opt to participate notifying them instantly of a local equipment order. Participating suppliers will have the ability to view the full details of QuickRentz orders—which are all prequalified—so they can make sure it makes sense for their company to fulfill it based on location, product and hauling rates, rental dates and delivery window.

The first supplier to click the “Claim” button on a given order request “wins the rental,” BigRentz says.

The feature will no doubt create more competition between rental firms in metro areas where multiple companies are BigRentz suppliers. However, Dallas Imbimbo, CEO of BigRentz says the new feature will not only speed up the online rental process for customers as suppliers feel the heat to more quickly fill an order, it will also save suppliers the time involved in the “back and forth of sourcing equipment over the phone.”

The company, based in Irvine, California, beta tested the new feature in the Southern California market earlier this year. BigRentz suppliers interested in registering to participate in the QuickRentz service can register on the company’s website.

“As our customer base and supplier network continue to grow, we recognize the opportunity to help both groups by creating more efficient solutions that enhance our customers’ access to the best equipment suppliers in the country, while increasing our suppliers’ chances to fulfill more rentals,” Imbimbo said in a prepared statement. “QuickRentz expedites the rental process while eliminating errors and requires zero technology investment.”

BigRentz adds that participating suppliers with high service ratings will have full access to claim any local deals that meet the eligibility guidelines established in the BigRentz network.

“Supplier feedback has been tremendous since beta testing began… In a few short months, QuickRentz has already expanded nationwide with over 175 suppliers using the service,” Imbimbo says.
