The Indiana Department of Transportation has teamed up with the Road Construction Awareness Corporation to install new signs on interstate highways throughout the state that raise awareness for driving safely through road construction zones.
According to the INDOT, the new eye-catching orange signs for the “Save-A-Life” campaign will stand at 8-foot by 15-foot and display a message telling drivers to “Slow Down, Save A Life” and that “We’re All In This Together.”
“Safety is the top priority of Indiana’s highway workers, and they need all drivers’ full cooperation to make work zones safe for everyone,” INDOT said in a press release.
The signs will be on display beginning this month at entry points to the state and before major interstate construction projects. INDOT and RCAC plan to have 16 signs installed across the state by next year. A smaller, magnetic version of the sign will also be placed on the back of all INDOT, contractor and supplier vehicles throughout Indiana.
