Corpus Christi’s Harbor Bridge Project is showing good progress, even though it isn’t scheduled to be completed until 2020, mySA reports.

Street bridges, ramps, and pedestrian bridges being constructed near downtown are all part of the $1 billion project.

When completed, the new Harbor Bridge, which connects Corpus Christi to North Shore communities, will be taller than the old bridge built in 1959. This will allow larger ships into the Port of Corpus Christi, which is expected to have a positive economic impact on the city.
