The competition recognizes programs, campaigns and technologies that help reduce roadway work zone accidents, injuries and fatalities. ARTBA chose winners in three categories: Outreach Campaigns, Training Programs and Innovations in Technology.
The winners are:

- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT): âBe Safe. Drive Smart.â (Outreach Campaign/State Level â Second Place)
- Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT): âI-15 CORE Lane Split Education Campaignâ (Outreach Campaign/Local Level â First Place)
- DBi Services, LLC: âWork Zone Safety Trainingâ (Training Programs/National Level â First Place)
- Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA): âTraffic Managerâs Training Courseâ (Training Programs/State Level â First Place)
- North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA): âMaintenance Department Safety Programâ (Training Programs/Local Level â First Place)
- Provo River Constructors, a Joint-Venture Company: âI-15 Corridor Expansion Projectâ (Training Programs/Local Level â Second Place)
