Terex has introduced its TL 120 compact wheel loader with 16 percent more power and 90 percent lower emissions than the previous model, according to our sister site, Equipment World.

A Tier 4 interim four-cylinder turbo diesel engine with intercooler powers the loader, delivering 101 horsepower.

The engine cooling system features a hydraulically operated fan that starts automatically and can be adjusted down for cooler climates. An optional reverse function is available to push debris from the radiator.

The loader has a turning radius of 15 feet 4 inches, bucket capacities ranging from 1.57 to 2.35 cubic yards, parallel kinematics, self-locking differentials and an oscillating rear axle.

Terex Smart Control enables the operator configure the machine to a specific application. The intuitive system, which Terex compares to menu guides on smartphones, features a dashboard display with easy-to-read machine operation information.

The two-door cab features a multi-function joystick that includes an electro-proportional control circuit with a slow/fast key and large keypad keys. In-cab noise levels have been reduced from 76 decibels to 71 decibel compared to the previous model.

For simplified maintenance, the machine includes a three-part counterweight for easy access to the engine, as well as the battery isolator located adjacent to the cab. Other maintenance features include a redesigned engine hood and steering system.
