Virnig Manufacturing has re-engineered its Skid Steer Snow Blower lineup, simplifying the design with a single body style while offering more customization options for different applications.
The high-capacity two-stage snow blowers can be paired with skid steers with rated operating capacities of 1,500 pounds or greater. Available in 63- to 100-inch cutting widths, the revised lineup replaces the previous V50 and V60 models with the new BW60, BW72, BW84 and BW96.
Key elements of the redesign include:
- Five hydraulic motor packages
- Four working widths, including a new 96-inch model
- Two auger configurations
- Three skid shoe options
- Five-position skid shoe adjustment
- Locking skid shoe design
- Heavy-duty 3/8-inch auger flighting
“This redesign wasn’t about fixing a bad product,” said Tyler Monson, product manager at Virnig Manufacturing. “Our previous snow blowers performed well for customers. The opportunity was to take what we learned from dealers and operators, address common pain points, simplify the platform, and build more value into every blower without compromising performance or durability.”
The new skid shoe system features five position adjustment options with stepped slots, which helps keep shoes where operators set them and prevents them from sliding over time, Virnig says.
Three shoe options can be matched to jobsite conditions – from finished concrete to gravel roads. Choices include:
- Standard steel shoes
- Poly shoes for finished surfaces
- Gravel shoes for softer surfaces and gravel applications
The new chute design incorporates poly pucks that glide more smoothly and are less prone to binding, helping improve chute performance in winter conditions.
Buyers can also select their preferred auger style: an aggressive paddle-style design for breaking apart packed snow and ice or a traditional spiral auger for handling lighter, more consistent snow conditions.
Virnig kept durability at the forefront with the following performance features:
- Heavy-duty 3/8-inch serrated auger flighting: Built to withstand packed snow, ice, and daily use while maintaining aggressive feeding performance.
- 3/16-inch fan housing: A thicker fan housing helps resist impacts from rocks, debris, and other hazards commonly encountered during snow removal operations.
- Eaton motors with pressure relief protection: Provides reliable hydraulic performance with long-term durability.
- 5/8-inch reversible bolt-on edge: A heavy-duty wear edge designed for long service life and easy replacement.
