Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer Sany has entered the U.S. carry deck crane market with the debut of its new 15-ton-lift-capacity SCD150.
Designed for tight and confined jobsites such as plant maintenance, refineries and industrial applications on transportation corridors, the SCD150 features a four-section, 54-foot main boom; standard 15-foot jib; and max lifting height of 70 feet. Powering the SCD150 is a 121-horsepower Cummins F3.8 diesel engine
The SCD150 measures 8.2 feet tall and 7.9 feet wide, making it suitable for tight spaces including workshops, petrochemical pip racks and port yards, according to Sany.

Operators will be working with an 11.5-foot minimum steering radius coupled with all-wheel steering, plus new oblique-style single-stage outriggers. The SCD150 features three-position offset (0 degrees, 15 degrees and 30 degrees) of jib.
This crane allows for 360 degrees of free slewing for more precise operation in narrow spaces. The SCD150’s flexible boom nose adjusts +40°/+80° to lower its height by 1.5 feet for low-clearance work, and –30° / –15° to increase the deck loading and unloading range.

The SCD150 offers, according to Sany, the largest operator cab in its class thanks to its industry-first, pillar-free chamfered cab design that increases interior space by 18% for improved visibility. Operators will have six high-definition cameras to keep track of their surroundings, a two-point safety belt, adjustable multifunction steering wheel and a 10.1-inch display.
Powered byOn-crane wireless remote-control capabilities allow operators to handle key functions like boom telescoping and luffing from outside vantage points for safer and more responsive performance.
