Contest to honor innovations in construction

Do you know of a construction innovation or invention that has had a positive effect on the industry? The Construction and Innovation Forum is requesting nominations for the Nova Award, which recognizes important innovations in construction. Nomination applications must be postmarked by Oct. 1.

Nova awards are not given to specific individuals, but instead to the technique or project itself. Nominations are judged by a national jury of experts who perform investigations with the help of engineers and objective reports.

Past winners have included innovations in the construction process, in materials, design, detailing, fabrication, equipment, procurement, contract administration, management, labor relations, training and safety.

The 2004 Nova award will be presented at the Construction Innovation Forum’s Innovation Celebration Banquet in March. Any innovation, technique, project, method or product in the construction industry can be nominated, and anyone can make a nomination.
