Caterpillar has added a second, smaller ejector truck to its lineup. The 730 ejector articulated truck is rated at 31 tons and runs on a 317-horsepower engine. A six-speed electronic transmission features an anti-hunt strategy, electronic clutch pressure control and controlled throttle shifting for smooth shifts and extended component life. An inter-axle and cross-axle differential-locking system with on-the-go capability can lock up the entire driveline for maximum pull in adverse conditions. The ejector pushes loads out the back of the truck, improving performance and safety on sites where a traditional raised-bed dump truck might be unstable or encounter overhead power lines. The ejector also scrapes the truck bed clean, eliminating carryback.
