VMAC has now released its new Underhood70 air compressor for 2019 Ram trucks with Cummins diesel engines.

The release follows VMAC’s addition of a new lineup of Underhood rotary-screw compressors for 2019 vans and service trucks. The compressors are installed in the truck or van’s engine compartment and can be used to run small to medium-sized air tools.

The version for Ram trucks can produce up to 70 cubic feet per minute of air flow at 100 pounds per square inch. It has a max pressure of 175 psi.

The air compressor is compatible with 2019 Ram 2500 – 3500 trucks with 6.7-liter Cummins Inline 6 diesel engines.

It is designed to be lightweight and compact to allow more tools to be carried and to improve fuel efficiency. VMAC says that by being mounted underhood it frees up 25 cubic feet on the truck deck, and it is 260 pounds lighter than gas-drive reciprocating air compressors with 30-gallon air receiver tanks to reduce gross vehicle weight.

The Underhood air compressors can also perform in extreme weather, from the arctic to the desert, the company says.

VMAC plans to release an Underhood compressor in the fall for 2019 Ram trucks with 6.4-liter Hemi V8 gas engines. For exact fitment specifications, go to vmacair.com/application-lists.
