It’s hard to beat a million-dollar headline.

Barrett-Jackson’s recent 2018 Northeast Auction earned headlines across the country for selling the final 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and the last 2017 Dodge Viper. The two were bought together for $1 million to benefit the United Way.

But there were a lot of other head-turning cars and trucks that sold over the course of the auction from June 21-23 in Uncasville, Conn., including a custom four-wheel-drive 1948 Dodge Power Wagon.

While we’ve come across older Power Wagons before, this one’s unusual in that it has a modern service body in place of a bed. That’s not the only oddity. The truck features Chevy front and rear axles (dually rear end), front hydraulic brakes and a chrome vertical exhaust pipe.

The turbo-charged 2.6-liter Detroit Diesel is mated to a two-speed Allison automatic transmission. A Jake brake is sure to make driving fun for the new owner who shelled out $55,000 after the hammer dropped on this unreserved auction.
