L 524 wheel loader uses up to 40 percent less fuel

Liebherr has introduced a smaller wheel loader model into the North American construction market. The L 524 has a tipping load of 15,440 pounds and is equipped with a standard 2.6-yard bucket. It has an operating weight of 22,270 pounds and can be spec’d with either parallel-lift or z-bar linkage.

An advanced hydrostatic travel system uses up to 40 percent less fuel than conventional drive wheel loaders. When combined with limited slip differentials and traction control, the hydrostatic drive system contributes up to 25 percent less tire wear and dramatically reduces brake wear. A combined swing axle and oscillating center pivot chassis layout combined with additional rubber dampening elements help reduce cab movement and operator fatigue.
