$1,500 construction industry scholarship available

Constructmyfuture.com is taking applications for a one-year, $1,500 scholarship to be used for post-secondary construction education or the purchase of tools for someone already employed in a construction field.

Registrants will be judged on their current and past involvement in construction. Technical classes taken during high school count as involvement.

Applicants must submit their high school transcript, a list of all completed construction-related courses, a 1,000 word or less essay describing their interest and aspirations in the construction industry and a completed scholarship application form. Students must provide proof they have been accepted into a post-secondary construction-related program.

Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 1. The winner will be notified in March.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers, the Associated Equipment Distributors Foundation and the Associated General Contractors of America developed constructmyfuture.com to showcase the industry’s career choices to students, teachers, counselors and parents.
