Snorkel's 2100SJ telescopic boom lift

Snorkel plans to unveil the world’s longest self-propelled telescopic boom lift at ConExpo 2020, with a platform height of 210 feet.

The 2100SJ telescopic boom lift – to be displayed at booth F6962 in the Festival Grounds – would also have the longest horizontal outreach, of 100 feet. It is compliant with new ANSI standards set to take effect March 1 for mobile elevating work platforms, or MEWPs, the company says. Appeals of those standards, however, could delay their effective date.

Before Snorkel’s new lift, the tallest telescopic boom lift has been JLG’s 1850SJ, at 185 feet 7 inches, according to Equipment World’s 2019-20 Spec Guide. It has a horizontal reach of 80 feet.

Snorkel is calling the 2100SJ a “Mega Boom.” It has an unrestricted platform capacity of 660 pounds. The company also gave the lift an 8-foot, 2-inch storage width for easier transport. The lift has five steering modes and “a significantly increased working envelope over the current industry standard,” the company says.

The lift features a 30-foot jib boom that has a working arc of -55 degrees to 73 degrees for maneuverability when working at height. The 8-foot-by-3-foot tri-entry platform offers 150-degree rotation for further access at height.

Snorkel says it will be taking orders for the new lift at the show, with deliveries scheduled for early 2021.

The company also plans to unveil more new products at ConExpo, including two large-deck construction scissor lift families. A range of four ultra-capacity scissor models that reach up to 70 feet high are included in that launch.
