A died Friday shortly after a vehicle struck him in a New Hampshire construction zone near Fitzwilliam.
According to the Keene Sentinel, the flagger was working at a construction zone on Route 12 as crews did work on high-tension power lines early Friday morning. There was snow on the road when the vehicle struck the driver.
Police responded to the scene and called in a helicopter ambulance to help the flagger, but before the helicopter from UMass Memorial Medical Center could get to the nearby landing zone, first responders called it off because the man had died.
The crash blocked the road and the front end of the vehicle that struck the man appeared to have taken heavy damage.
