Manitou’s new MTA 12055 Series III telehandler boasts a lift capacity of 12,000 pounds, yet with its 12-foot turning radius, it can fit on tight jobsites, the company says.

The telehandler is designed for such projects as infrastructure, bridges and power generation. It has a lift height of 55 feet 5 inches and forward reach of 40 feet 9 inches. It can handle 5,500 pounds at full extension.

Operators use a single joystick to control travel direction, boom extension and retraction, attachment tilt and auxiliary hydraulics. They also gain better visibility over the top of the engine and easier maintenance access with the telehandler’s side-mounted engine and high boom mount.

The 120-horsepower Cummins engine and four-speed powershift transmission give the MTA 12055 a travel speed up to 22.8 mph. Standard features include four-wheel drive, frame leveling, auxiliary hydraulics and self-leveling forks.

For options, Manitou offers a cab enclosure with heat or air conditioning, an LED light kit, and reverse camera and radar. For those working in platforms, the company offers its Personnel Work Platform System, which automatically puts the telehandler in a safe mode for platform use, the company says. It temporarily disconnects the transmission, engages the rear axle stabilizer, reduces frame leveling and applies the parking brake.

Available Manitou attachments for the MTA 12055 include standard and rotating fork carriages in widths of 48 to 72 inches, truss booms, buckets and lift hooks. The company’s telematics system, Connected Machine, is also an option.
