Komatsu continues to enhance its parts distribution capabilities in North America with the opening of a new center in Edmonton, Canada.
The 135,000-square-foot full-service facility is intended to expand parts availability, improve distribution efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance dealer service and support across the country.
The Edmonton operation doubles Komatsu’s previous warehouse capacity in Canada and enables the company to stock a broader range of “fast-moving and strategic inventory” closer to jobsites. It will also improve delivery capabilities across the country, including 24-hour delivery to dealers throughout much of Western Canada, according to Komatsu.
The facility features advanced integration with Komatsu's global planning and warehouse management systems, updated warehouse layouts, automation and new equipment designed to improve efficiency and accuracy. It is designed to support future workforce capacity and growth as demand from Canada's mining, construction and forestry industries continues to evolve.
A grand opening celebration on September 10 was attended by Komatsu leaders, employees, local officials, distinguished guests and representatives from dealer partners, including SMS Equipment, Wilson Equipment and Equipment Sales & Service.

Komatsu has dozens of facilities across the U.S. and Canada that supply and distribute parts for its construction, mining and forestry equipment. The company also plans to open a new 270,000-square-foot parts distribution center in Mesa, Arizona, by the end of the year.
