Two brothers were charged with the theft of steel beams and reinforcement bar for construction of a new bridge over the Kennebec River. Jonathan Cowan, 19, of Anson, was charged with Class C theft and Edward Cowan, 22, of Taunton, Massachusetts, was charged with Class C receiving stolen property.

Around 4 tons of the material was recovered earlier this month from a scrap yard in Oakland.
