Bobcat’s Model 418 compact excavator weighs less than 2,600 pounds, features a 6-foot dig depth and has a bucket breakout force of 1,865 pounds. The excavator’s undercarriage retracts to 28 inches and the TOPS roll bar folds down to accommodate obstacles and tight spaces. Zero tail swing with the tracks extended to eliminate tail overhang and optimize spoil placement reduces the likelihood of the machine coming in contact with nearby objects. The 418’s boom-mounted hydraulic cylinder prevents damage caused by contact with the bucket, trench or other objects.
