The Cummins Foundation recently gave a $500,000 grant to LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee, to aid the school’s growth and accreditation efforts. Cummins began distributing the grant in December 2006, and will continue to give the remainder of the grant in installments until December 2009.
Cummins employs several of LeMoyne-Owen’s graduates and has offered financial support, student internships and mentoring programs to the college in the past. LeMoyne-Owen is one of 39 Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
