The U.S. Senate recently voted to reform pension laws, a move that the Associated General Contractors of America praised, stating that the reform should strengthen and preserve multiemployer pension plans in the future and help ensure the retirement security of unionized construction workers.
The House of Representatives passed the Pension Protection Act of 2006 on July 29.
