New crane tire lasts longer, saves fuel

Specifically developed rubber and tread design for Michelin‘s X-Crane AT Tire decrease rolling resistance 7 percent to conserve fuel. The X-Crane AT’s contact patch is 7 percent larger than that of its predecessor, the XGC tire, and the AT has an asymmetrical tread pattern that incorporates small blocks for driving comfort and precise traction on soft ground at construction sites. Visible wear indicators at 25 percent, 50 percent and 75 percent of wear make monitoring easy. Currently, the tire is offered in the 445/95 R25 size. In 2007, 385/95 R25 and 385/95 R24 sizes will be available.
