More horses, tough belts turn ag tractors into high-volume earthmovers

Hitching a tow-behind scraper to a massive ag-style tractor is an increasingly popular way to move mass quantities of dirt. In response, AGCO has introduced five new Challenger MT800B Special Application tractors with more horsepower and a construction-rugged belt option. The rubber tracks on these machines offer low ground pressure and speeds up to 24.6 mph. The special application belt option has tread bars 1/2- inch shorter than ag belts for less flexing and irregular wear and additional layers of rubber to reduce debris damage. The machines’ tractor management center allows you to independently monitor and display the amount of pressure exerted on each track belt.
