JLG to use GM instead of Ford engines

JLG will begin installing General Motors rather than Ford engines in its boom and scissor lifts in January. Production of the Ford engines has been discontinued. JLG will use the four-cylinder, GM Vortec 3000 gas engine in their place.

JLG says it has begun inventorying GM parts so it can provide replacement parts capability while continuing to support its Ford-powered products. The company is planning service training programs relating to the new engines and intends to install them in remanufactured JLG machines. JLG dealers will perform warranty work for the GM engines and claims will be submitted directly to JLG for reimbursement.
