Dash-2 compact excavators go faster, pull harder

Hitachi upgraded its two largest compact excavators, the 35U-2 and 50U-2, to give them faster operating speeds and more drawbar pull. An auto-idle feature reduces fuel consumption and a new long arm and heavy counterweight option provide an additional foot of dig depth and reach. The three-way hydraulic system and arm regenerative circuit make combined operations and fine control easier and smoother. The Dash-2 models retain the independent boom swing and 360-degree rotation of previous models, but drawbar pull has increased by almost 35 percent on the 50U-2. A new box section frame and larger counterweight lower the center of gravity and improve stability.
