Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America appoints president, CEO

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America has appointed Robert McDowell president and chief executive. McDowell, the first American-born president of MFTA, replaces Isao Toda, who will return to Japan.

McDowell joined MFTA at its inception as regional sales manager, charged with handling dealer development. He previously worked in the medium-duty truck market at IVECO Truck of North America. At MFTA, he has also been eastern regional vice president, vice president of sales operations, and most recently, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Isao Toda will become president of Chiba Mitsubishi Fuso in Japan. Under Toda’s leadership, MFTA has grown steadily, enjoying the highest monthly sales in its history in March 2005.
