The Loftness/US Attachments Timber Ax selectively cuts and mulches unwanted trees or brush. The unit’s reverse rotor rotation lifts material off the ground, thus improving cutting action, reducing horsepower requirements and minimizing knife wear. The rotor’s rigid, replaceable, sharpened blades require less horsepower than carbide cutters or swing hammers that can deflect backwards under heavy loads, the company says. The Timber Ax lets you cut up to 6-inch-diameter trees with just 38 hydraulic horsepower.
